Highmark Delaware has invested over 10 million in 2022 to support a healthier community

  • Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield Delaware commits $1.9 million to 9 organizations through BluePrints for the Community grants; more than $10 million in 2022 and more than $35 million since 2008

Wilmington, Del. (December 6, 2022) — Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield Delaware has invested over $10 million through 78 grant awards in 2022 through its health-focused fund, BluePrints for the Community. The most recent cohort of grantees is comprised of nine organizations, totaling over $1.9 million in awards. Since its inception in 2007, BluePrints for the Community has invested over $35 million to improve health outcomes across the state.

“This level of investment from Highmark demonstrates a true commitment to improving health for all Delawareans, and the variety of programs and projects supported shows an understanding of the multi-faceted needs of our community,” said Rita Landgraf, chair of the Blueprints for the Community Advisory Council. “Our nonprofit partners continue to exhibit thoughtful responsiveness and meaningful approaches to best care for the people they serve.”

Quarter four grant recipients include Delaware State University, Education Health and Research International, Food Bank of Delaware, Reach Out and Read, Saint Francis Hospital, Delaware Business Roundtable Education Committee, and Capital, Red Clay Consolidated, and Seaford School Districts.

BluePrints for the Community supports project and programs throughout Delaware that address social determinants of health, increase access to care and decrease health disparities. Applications for grants can be found at www.delcf.org/grants. All Delaware 501c3 organizations are eligible to submit proposals that are focused on health outcomes and demonstrate meaningful impact.
