Camp Hill, Pa. (November 1, 2022) — Highmark announced its Affordable Care Act (ACA) health insurance products in Central Pennsylvania for the upcoming year, offering individuals and families new PPO plans, lower select premiums and copays, and innovative new benefits.
On November 1, Highmark will unveil a range of affordable, high-quality coverage options, and is proud to announce the addition of all WellSpan Health providers and hospitals to Highmark’s my Direct Blue EPO plans. my Direct Blue EPO plans are Highmark’s most popular and affordable plans in Central Pennsylvania, providing members access to care from top doctors in the region. my Direct Blue will be available in York and Adams counties for the first time in 2023.
“We are committed to providing high-quality, affordable health care to individuals and families across Pennsylvania,” says Ellen Galardy, Senior VP of Consumer Markets for Highmark. “Thousands of Highmark members and millions of consumers nationwide have benefitted from expanded ACA subsidies that lower what they pay for their coverage, and those subsidies have been extended through at least 2025. At a time when inflation is rising and household budgets are tight, there’s an affordable Highmark ACA plan for every individual and family in Pennsylvania.”
Almost 90% of Highmark’s ACA marketplace members in Pennsylvania qualify for subsidies or tax credits to make their coverage more affordable, with nearly 15,000 of Highmark’s Pennsylvania members enrolled in plans with a premium of less than $5 per month after subsidy.
2023 Individual and Family plans
“Highmark’s most popular products in Central Pennsylvania and the Lehigh Valley are my Direct Blue EPO and my Direct Blue Lehigh Valley EPO which, through partnerships with major health systems — including Lancaster General Health, Lehigh Valley Health Network, Penn State Health and WellSpan Health — provides high-quality, affordable plans to our members,” says Bill Tuthill, Vice President of Federal Markets.
Rounding out the portfolio in all 21 counties in Central Pennsylvania and the Lehigh Valley is my Blue Access PPO. Recognizing that an increasing number of ACA members want it all in their health plan, Highmark built my Blue Access PPO to provide in-network access to all hospitals in in Central PA and the Lehigh Valley.
“my Direct Blue EPO, my Direct Blue Lehigh Valley EPO, and my Blue Access PPO all offer access to over 95 percent of doctors and hospitals nationwide through the BlueCard® program, including doctors in Maryland, New York, and New Jersey,” Tuthill says. “And for the third consecutive year, we’re excited to offer a full suite of products that include adult dental and vision benefits in addition to medical and pharmacy benefits.”
“Our most popular plans aren’t changing for 2023. But since we realize that our ACA customers aren’t always looking for the same thing in a health plan, we make a broad range of plans available and help our customers to enroll in the one that’s right for them,” says Tuthill. “More Central Pennsylvania consumers are choosing Highmark, with our total ACA membership in the region growing almost 200% since 2019.”
While the open enrollment period runs through January 15, consumers must enroll by December 15 for coverage that starts on January 1. For more information on Highmark’s 2023 ACA health insurance products, visit Highmark.com or call 866-499-0151.
