When you’re expecting, Highmark Health Options supports you from hospital to home. Get maternity care, like prenatal and postnatal exams, programs and extra benefits.
Your Maternity Care
Maternity care is covered under your standard Medicaid benefits. Standard maternity benefits include:
- Office visits and tests before your baby is born
- Your hospital stay and care when you have your baby
- Office visits and tests after your baby is born
Note: If you joined Highmark Health Options during the last three months of your pregnancy, you may be allowed to stay with your current doctor, even if that doctor is not in our network.

Extra Medicaid Maternity Benefits

MOM Options Program
The MOM Options Program is for expecting moms who have regular exams while pregnant. Rewards include choice of infant car seat, stroller and more.
Covered Doula Services
Get physical, emotional and informational support while you're pregnant, during labor, and right after giving birth. Call a Care Coordinator to learn more.
Depend on Your Care Coordinator
Your maternity benefit includes a Care Coordinator. A Care Coordinator is a nurse or social worker who can answer your questions, help you plan doctor visits, find community services, and more. Ask your Care Coordinator to enroll you in the MOM Options program.

Healthy Rewards Program
If you’re pregnant or have recently had a baby and want to stop using opioids, you can earn up to $100 with Healthy Rewards after completing 30 days of treatment.
Delaware WIC Program
The Special Supplemental Nutrition program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) is a free program offering food coupons, counseling and more.

Farmers Market Program
In addition to WIC benefits, The WIC Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) includes extra coupons. These coupons can be used to buy eligible foods from approved farmers, farmers markets or roadside stands.

Coverage for Newborns
Make sure your baby has health care coverage and the pediatrician you want. Within 30 calendar days after your baby is born, you can:
- Call the Delaware Division of Social Services Change Report Center at 1-302-571-4900 to make sure your baby is added for health benefits.
- Tell us which pediatrician you want for your baby. If you don’t choose a pediatrician, we’ll choose one for you.
